Be clear-eyed about what this is. OmniArt has no native video outpainting — this workflow regenerates the shot from an extended still rather than widening your existing frames. When this approach works and when it fails
Judge the shot before you spend a credit. The variable that decides everything is how much new information the wider frame demands.
Works well:
- Locked-off or near-static shots. A tripod product table, a still-life, a slow ambient background — almost nothing outside the original frame needs to move independently.

Stage 1: export a representative frame
Scrub the source clip and pull a single still as PNG at full resolution. "Representative" is doing real work there — everything downstream inherits this frame's composition, lighting, and subject position.
- Pick a frame where the subject is at its most typical position, not its most extreme.
- Avoid motion-blurred frames. Blur bakes into the extension and then gets re-blurred by the video model.

Stage 4: match motion, timing and grade to the source
This is the stage that decides whether the rebuild passes. Put the new clip on a timeline directly above the original and compare them.
